Discount Heated Blankets – When to buy

As with most products, you can save a bundle when shopping out of season for the items you are looking for. Heated blankets, heated mattress pads and other heated products are no different. Many manufacturers discount their products for a number of reasons. The first is kind of obvious; they want to clear out products that are left over. For example, if Sunbeam had 1000 heated blankets from last winter, they would discount them and give better deals so they can produce and sell the newer models that are coming out this winter. So while you won’t use a nice cozy heated blanket in the summer, you can get a great discount on one. Heating blankets have been a favorite of mine since owning one years ago. Especially during the off season with the larger discounts, you can actually get a nicer model without spending the extra money. Go to the categories to the right for the most popular electric heated blankets, heated mattress pads or any other heated product.

My Heated Blankets Review

My experience with heated blankets has been, well let’s say, warm and comfortable. After many, many years of hearing about heated blankets and the benefits of them, I decided to purchase one when I saw it displayed at the PX (Post Exchange). It was a queen size, Sunbeam electric heated blanket. It featured dual controls which I thought was awesome since I would have to share it with my wife. She has a totally different level of heat comfort than I do. It also had many other advanced features for comfort and safety.

Winter soon fell upon us a few weeks later with the colder temperatures. We decided to break out our new heated blanket along with the usual regular ones. Roughly an hour before going to bed for the night, I turned it on to ensure the bed was nice and warm when we entered it. All I can say is that an hour later, it was a great feeling to get into a warm bed! There wasn’t any chill and we didn’t need to warm the blankets with our own body heat first. It was perfect. And the rest of the night, we were as comfortable as can be and I probably slept better than I had in a long time before that. The blanket maintained the different heat levels that my wife and I wanted.

These heated blankets perform exactly the way they should. After that first night, we no longer had a need to have the heater on in the bedroom. We switched it off and didn’t look back. We also took a couple of the other blankets off of the bed as they just weren’t needed. In my opinion, heated blankets are the way to go for anyone looking to have a great night’s sleep, save on electric bills and many more benefits. I have had my heated blanket for almost 5 years now and it still works great. I can’t see myself going through a winter without one. They are worth the upfront money and will help you save money during the course of the winter.

In closing, if there is any doubt in your mind on whether or not you should buy one of these electric heated blankets, I would highly recommend that you do. Just make sure that you choose the right one for your bed and comfort level, even if it costs a little extra. You won’t regret it.

Benefits of Heated Blankets

Since the 80′s, Heated Blankets, also known as electric blankets, have really become a household item.  This is due to heated blankets being safer, reasonably priced and having more advanced features for safety and comfort.  They provide the personal comfort that you are looking for as well.

There are numerous advantages to heated blankets. As mentioned above, you will have your own personal settings to ensure your comfort comes first whether it’s during the day or at night while you sleep.  You can save about 10% on your electric bill as these blankets can be moved from room to room without having to heat the entire apartment or house. Also, while you sleep, you can lower your home thermostat considerably without becoming cold during the night.  And let’s not forget an important feature for couples.  On many brands of heated blankets such as Sunbeam, Biddeford and Beautyrest, there are dual controls for each side of the blanket to bring the desired level of warmth to each individual.

With the many advantages above, heated blankets and heated mattress pads also have health benefits as well.  According to the Electric Blanket Institute, these heating blankets, electric blankets and heated mattress pads can assist in the following areas:

• Arthritis and fibromyalgia – Heated blankets or mattress pads increase the flow of blood to the skin and muscles around the affected area.  This will then will enhance muscle nutrition and relaxation.

• Muscle soreness and aches including back pain – Like above, these heating devices can increase the flow of blood which will make the muscles relax, losing the tightness and strain.

• Poor sleeping – Most sleep researches believe that sleeping in a cooler room is beneficial for a better night’s sleep.  By keeping the home’s thermostat considerably lower, heated blankets can still keep you warm through the night for a better sleep.

• Flexibility and range of motion – Same as Muscles soreness and aches section.

• Tension – Heating devices have a soothing nature about them to relieve your daily tension.

• Allergies and Dust Mites– Dust mites favor humid areas. Your mattress can contain enough moisture to make it a perfect breeding ground for these mites.  Studies have confirmed that a heated blanket used for one month can reduce dust mites by 50%.

As you have read, these are just some of the advantages and benefits of owning heated blankets, electric blankets or heated mattress pads. While there are many of them to choose from, it is always best to read the manufacturer’s warnings when it comes to these products especially when it comes to children and elderly people. And let’s not forget about our other family members, pets. There are now heated pet products for them as well.
